Agreement
Paperfoot is run by Paperfoot AI Pte. Ltd., a company incorporated in Singapore (“we”, “us”). These terms apply when you use the site or an account, and by using them you accept these terms. The privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
Accounts
- You must be 16 or over to open an account.
- Use a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- One person per account. Don’t open extra accounts to get more questions or requests.
Acceptable use
Don’t:
- attack, probe or disrupt the service or its security;
- use the service to break the law or infringe anyone’s rights;
We may suspend or close an account, or revoke a key, that breaks these terms.
Content
- Stories are written by AI from each paper’s abstract, and every claim is checked against the abstract before publication. A story can still be wrong: the paper is the authority, and every story links to it.
- Papers and abstracts belong to their authors and publishers.
- Our stories, briefs, judgements, design and code belong to us. Quote and link to them with credit; ask us before republishing a whole story.
Liability
- We provide Paperfoot as it is and as available, and don’t promise that it will always be accurate, complete or online.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made on the strength of our content.
- Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 100 US dollars.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, or your rights as a consumer.
Ending
Stop using the service at any time. To close your account, delete it in Settings, Privacy & data. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law where you live, and can bring a claim in your local courts.
Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and we email account holders before a significant change takes effect. If you keep using the service after it does, the new terms apply.
